Learn skills that renew your passion for life with art

All classes are hands on and studio based. They start with drawing and foundation skills. Students work on set projects each term to develop their understanding of painting and drawing techniques. Art history and particular art movements are part of the course, however there is an emphasis on  contemporary art, rather than developing a traditional style.

Beginners are encouraged and are given lots of structure and exercises to develop their understanding of the basics of colour, form, composition and subject matter. More experienced students can expect a freedom to develop their own voice within an environment of support and mentoring with suggestions on technique and inspiration with ideas.

People who join the classes come from a range of experience in art, from complete beginner to someone wanting to develop a body of work for an exhibition
