     INTRODUCTORY DRAWING AND COLOUR WORKSHOP

This one day Introductory Drawing and Colour Workshop is the perfect way to get started in art.

You will learn the absolute basics which you can take to any beginner class and feel the confidence to get started.

    In the workshop you will:
  • Learn and understand how to draw objects in 3D and how to place them on your page so that they look like they are on a table, or in a room or out in the landscape.
  • Learn simple exercises you can practice to improve your drawing skills.
  • Learn the basics of colour. Do a colour wheel.
  • Understand and learn how use harmonious and contrasting colours.
  • Come away with something you will feel good about.
  • Learn how to mix ANY colour you like.
  • Learn a lot of the real basics, like "how to sharpen a pencil!" that you won't get in other 'beginner art classes'.
  • Have a lot of fun 'having a go'.

INTRODUCTORY EXPLORE YOUR CREATIVITY

Designed for beginners, this workshop is the ideal way for anyone to start “Exploring Your Creativity”.

  • The School of Fine Art is a safe place to begin to unleash your inner artist by experiencing the natural creative urge that lies in everyone.
  • In the morning you will experiment and explore exercises that will stimulate your imagination and give you ideas about what you want to create.
  • By the afternoon you will launch into a painting that expresses you and your ideas. The emphasis will be on experimentation and whatever the outcome, the day will expand your idea of art and yourself as an artist.

The teacher for both workshops is Kristin Coburn who brings over 25 years of teaching experience. Coburn works with each student individually at his or her own level. Her classes are insightful, fun and full of stories about art. Kristin teaches from a wealth of knowledge about art and with an understanding about the complexities and contradictions. She is passionate about the “artist’s journey” and brings a psychological and spiritual approach to her teaching

The workshops are held in a working artist studio, at a superb location. There is plenty of free parking and a cafe onsite. Classes are small with a maximum of 10 people. This ensures everyone gets lots of personal attention and tuition.
